PM Shehbaz heads to Egypt for D-8 summit on economic growth

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif embarked on an official visit to Egypt on Wednesday to participate in the 11th Summit of the Developing Eight (D-8) countries in Cairo.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the visit, scheduled from Wednesday to Friday, highlights Pakistan’s commitment to advancing economic cooperation among member states.
According to the Foreign Office, ahead of the summit, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar will represent Pakistan at the 21st Session of the D-8 Council of Ministers on Wednesday.
The theme of the 11th D-8 Summit is "Investing in Youth and Supporting SMEs: Shaping Tomorrow's Economy." Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will emphasise Pakistan’s dedication to the ideals of D-8, focusing on building partnerships for mutual prosperity and fostering collaboration in agriculture, food security, and tourism.
Shehbaz Sharif will also highlight Pakistan’s incentives for youth empowerment and financial development.
The Prime Minister is set to attend a special session addressing the humanitarian crisis and reconstruction challenges in Gaza and Lebanon. He will reiterate Pakistan’s unwavering stance on the Palestine issue and call for peace in the Middle East.
On the sidelines of the summit, PM Shehbaz is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other world leaders to further strengthen Pakistan’s diplomatic ties.
