40 booked for throwing dance party at Sakrand

Despite a ban on public gatherings in view of the coronavirus pandemic, a dance party was arranged at a marriage hall in Sakrand near Nawabshah to celebrate the birthday of an influential, Shahzad aka Janu Pathan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday. 

After the video went viral on social media, police registered a case against 40 persons, including the birthday boy and marriage hall’s manager. 

Police say the coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) were openly flouted at the function. None of the participants was wearing a facemask, prompting the SSP Shaheed Benazirabad to take notice.
