Punjab IGP suspends four SHOs, issues show-cause notices to four DSPs

IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar is actively working to address public complaints without any delay, and in this regard he has suspended four station house officers (SHOs) and issued show cause notices to four deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) for not registering FIRs in time, besides undertaking flawed investigations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said he himself will listen to public calls at complaint centre to address important and vital issues. Four SHOs have been suspended for not registering cases on people’s complaints on time. The police chief will listen to complaints at 1787 centres.
SHO Khadian in Kasur has been suspended for not taking prompt action on complaint of a citizen. The DSP has also been issued show cause. SHO Millat Town in Faisalabad has been suspended for making flawed investigations of a murder incident. The DSP has also been given show cause notice.
On flawed investigations, SHO Yousafwala in Sahiwal has been suspended while DSO has been served show cause notice.
SHO Hasilpur has been suspended in Bahawalpur while DSP has been served show cause notice.
RPO Bahawalpur has been asked to undertake investigation task by police under his own supervision into an incident of murder and dacoity.
The IGP said that officers who fail to address problems complaints had no need to continue working in field.
