PTI condemns attack on election rally

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf strongly condemned the bomb blast and expressed great grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of the workers.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, the party said the attack on the peaceful election rally was a criminal failure of the provincial and federal governments.

The party alleged that the state machinery is busy getting the PTI leaders and workers, including founder chairman Imran Khan and vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, punished in fake and false cases.

It said the institutions responsible for public order are engaged in the worst political engineering through bare lawlessness while miscreants are freely playing with the lives of citizens.

“This kind of attack on the peaceful election activity of Tehreek-e-Insaf before the elections is equivalent to scaring the people and Tehreek-e-Insaf and creating an atmosphere of fraud in the elections. The illegal, unconstitutional, non-political and overdue caretaker prime minister, interior minister and the provincial government should answer why security was not provided to the Tehreek-e-Insaf rally despite the high alert,” the statement added.

The party demanded a full investigation as well as the criminal negligence of the government to bring those responsible to justice.

The party also expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyred workers.

ECP takes notice

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of the incident that has happened just eight days before the general elections to be held on February 8.

In a post on X, the Election Commission of Pakistan said it had taken notice of the incident and summoned a report from Balochistan’s chief secretary and police chief.
