Singer Shamoon Ismail came under fire after he tweeted that a Chinese individual who wanted to eat a bat might have launched the coronavirus.

While the tweet has been deleted since then, the users of Twitter have demanded an apology. 

Taking to twitter, the singer said: “I never meant to be insensitive. Apologies if I hurt you,” he said.

“I have corrected myself to set an example cause people look up to me and I am answerable to the Higher Authority. Not because I am scared of a bunch and getting canceled. I am not pushed on your TV or radio or on a subscription that’s paid for. I don’t owe anyone anything,” the Taare singer stated.
