The court has extended the interim bail of estranged PTI leader Jehangir Khan Tareen and his son Ali Tareen till June 11 in a money laundering case, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

The Sessions Court on Monday extended the interim bail of Jehangir Tareen, his son Ali Tareen and others till June 11 in corporate fraud and money laundering cases. The court also issued a show-cause notice to the FIA official who transferred the agency’s investigating officer of the case.

Additional sessions judge Hamid Hussain heard the case.

The additional sessions judge said he would no longer hear the case as a new additional sessions judge had been appointed for this case.

He said he could not hear any argument in this case. He could only give the next date for the hearing of the case, he added.

The judge asked about the development in this case during all these days.

Upon which Deputy Director FIA Rana Shahbaz said the FIA had replaced the investigating officer probing into the cases. He informed the court that replacements and transfers were made in the entire FIA cadre.

The judge asked where was the investigating officer whom he was supposed to talk to. He showed his dismay over the transfer of the investigating officer by the FIA. He wondered how the agency could have replaced its investigating officer without the court’s permission.

The judge issued show cause notice to the FIA official who transferred the investigating officer.

While talking to media after attending his hearing, Tareen said that Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed barrister Ali Zafar for probing allegations against him. He said he respected Ali Zafar.

He stated Ali Zafar after showing a great promise in the case had completed his investigation. He hoped that the report would be made public but lamented the delay saying the report still had not seen the daylight.

He said rumours were doing the rounds that Ali Zafar apprised the prime minister of the report’s details verbally, adding that it was also being speculated that the report was in his favour.

He moaned that he had asked for justice but it’s been quite long that they were not provided justice. He said justice delayed is justice denied.

Jehangir also denied his meeting with any high-up official.

He said the registration of a case against MPA Nazir Chohan has further deteriorated the situation.

He also warned against plating politics against him and his allies.
