Death toll rises to 40 as Pakistan registered 2,723 cases

The death toll from the deadly coronavirus has reached 40 in Pakistan as the total number of cases from the pandemic rose to 2,723 on Saturday morning.

According to the National Command and Operation Cengtre, 62 percent of the 2,723 cases came from other countries and 38 percent were from local transmission.

Punjab has so far recorded 1,087 cases, Sindh 839, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 343, Gilgit Baltistan 193, Balochistan 175, Islamabad 75 and Azad Kashmir 11.

A total number of 135 patients have recovered from the COVID-19.

Of the total 40 deaths Sindh has recorded 14, Punjab 11, KP 11, Balochistan one and Gilgit Baltistan three.

A total of 32,930 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan.
