Police said the explosion occurred in the rickshaw parked in Pir Wadhai area near the bus station. Police spokesperson Sajjadul Hassan told the media that the victims were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Though initiation reports suggested that the explosion was caused by the gas cylinder, the police spokesman said the nature of the blast was still being determined.
