Amid economic crisis hovering over the country, Sindh government has decided to purchase 138 luxury vehicles for assistant commissioners, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to official sources, the government will buy double-cabin vehicles at a cost of Rs1.99 billion.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah approved the summary on September 2, 2024 while Sindh Services and General Administration Department has also issued a circular to Finance Secretary Fayyaz Ahmed Jatoi for the release of the funds for the procurement process.

Sindh government decision has sparked a debate among the masses who claim that at one side the government was crying for financial challenges faced by the province while on the other hand the government was releasing huge funds for government officials.

Back in April 2024, the Punjab government sanctioned the procurement of 37 bulletproof vehicles to enhance the security of Chinese engineers and officials involved in various projects including CPEC.
