Punjab government on Tuesday issued orders to remove Lady Willingdon Hospital Lahore Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr. Sabahat and Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi MS Dr. Shazia from their posts.
According to a notification issued by Punjab Health Department, Dr. Sabahat has been transferred while Prof Zahra Khanum has been given a temporary charge of the seat.
The sources said that she was removed due to an ongoing strike by the doctors in the wake of the mysterious death of a lady doctor at the hospital’s hostel. MS Holy Family Hospital has been transferred. Dr. Shazia Zeb is the wife of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) MPA Raja Rashid Hafeez. She was appointed MS during PTI's tenure.
Meanwhile, Dr. Zafar Ali has been given acting medical superintendent charge of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
