Millions of rupees, dollars recovered in crackdown on hawala hundi operations in Karachi

The FIA Corporate Crime Circle conducted a major operation, arresting a suspect involved in illegal currency exchange and hawala hundi activities in Karachi on Thursday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the suspect, identified as Behzad Alam, was apprehended from the Saddar area of Karachi.

The operation was carried out based on a tip-off, leading to the recovery of over Rs102.4 million, along with USD 51,850, AUD 1,500, and AED 250 from the suspect.

Behzad Alam was found operating an illegal currency exchange without a license and failed to satisfy authorities regarding the legitimacy of the recovered currency.

The FIA has begun interrogating the suspect, and raids are underway to apprehend other accomplices involved in the illegal activities.
