Ch Shujaat condemns Sialkot, Faisalbad incidents

Former prime minister Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain Wednesday strongly condemned the horrific incidents that took place in Sialkot and Faisalabad.
A Sri Lankan national was lynched and burned alive by an angry mob over alleged blasphemy in Sialkot while four women were thrashed, tortured and stripped in a Faisalabad market over an alleged attempt of theft.
He said there was no place for militancy and extremism in Islam.
Ch Shujaat said it was wrong to use religion to achieve own vested interests.
“It seems that the society is lacking in humanity and it has nothing to do with the religion.”
He said the society was heading towards a direction that could be resulted in a disaster.
He appealed to the masses to never take the law into their hands as it creates more problems rather than solving them.
He said the religious scholars of all schools of thought and every person of the society have condemned such incidents.
