Punjab ministers and PML-N leaders have reacted strongly to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s remarks against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, saying it was an attempt to pitch one province against the other, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb asked “Is this the KP CM who is representing Pathans who used to respect women immensely? Do goons address their sisters in this way? Do proud Pathans talk to their mothers, sisters and daughters in this way?”

She said the PTI has promoted such people who has maligned the national politics through their “dirty mentality”.

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari termed Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's speech at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) rally in Islamabad yesterday an attempt to pitch one province against the other.

Azma addressed a press conference in Lahore on Monday and said that yesterday a “drunkard” used abusive language about the woman chief minister so now they will be answered in the language they understand.

She said that if the accused of the May 9 riots would be released, there would be more May 9 like events in the country.

The minister said Gandapur's remarks about women are reprehensible, and this could be a guess that he will have the same attitude towards the women of his house.

Azma said the kind of language Gandapur used, his mother, wife and sisters should have stopped him.

She said Gandapur has once again claimed Lashkar Kushi (attack), but he should remember that the Punjab police toughed him a lesson very quickly.

She said despite using all government resources, there were not even 3,000 people in the PTI rally but all the revolutionaries, including former president Arif Alvi, were sitting outside but were uploading fake videos.

She said seasoned politician from Balochistan Mahmood Khan Achakzai also declared them as a party in tatters.

Separately, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhary said the PTI will hold as many rallies as they want but it should be remembered that they will not get an NRO.

Addressing PTI rally at Sangjani in Islamabad on Sunday night, Gandapur announced that the PTI would go forward with the scheduled public gathering at Lahore’s Minar-e-Pakistan, regardless of whether the Punjab government issues the required No-Objection Certificate (NOC).”If Imran Khan is not released within two weeks, we will take matters into our own hands and free him ourselves,” he said.

Gandapur boldly challenged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz by promising to bring his followers to Lahore in order to mobilize the populace for the September 22 event.

In light of the difficulties PTI has encountered lately, he charged that the government is attempting to sabotage the party through unlawful means and asserted that the ruling class obtained a National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to defend their positions.
