The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Sindh has announced the second phase of its protest movement against the controversial 6-canal project on the Indus River, reported 24NewsHd TV channel Tuesday.

PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro, in a video statement, declared that torchlight rallies will be held in every Tehsil headquarters across Sindh on Wednesday, April 2, to oppose the project.

Khuhro emphasized that the issue of water is directly linked to Sindh’s future and survival.

He stated that a single-day protest would not be enough and that continuous demonstrations were necessary to pressure the authorities into scrapping the project.

He reiterated that the PPP stands firmly with the people of Sindh, vowing to resist any attempt to deprive the province of its rightful share of water.

According to Khuhro, PPP’s tehsil-level organizations will mobilize the public to participate in the evening rallies.

He stressed that the 6-canal project is detrimental to Sindh’s interests, which is why the people of the province reject it outright. He also made it clear that the protest movement will not end until the government officially announces the cancellation of the project.

Calling for collective resistance, Khuhro urged the people of Sindh to unite in this struggle. He warned that if Sindh’s water rights are violated, PPP will not remain silent and will continue to exercise its democratic right to protest.

“This is a fight for Sindh’s survival, and we will not back down,” he said.
