In the wake of a recent attack on a prisoner transport van in Sangjani, 13 police personnel, including three assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), have been suspended as part of an ongoing investigation.
A preliminary report of the incident was submitted to the Ministry of Interior.
According to sources, the suspended personnel include three sub-inspectors (SIs), five head constables, and five constables. Call data records (CDRs) for all 13 officials have been retrieved as part of the inquiry.
The incident unfolded when supporters of the detainees raised slogans both at the court premises and outside the Anti-Terrorism (AT) gate. Reports also indicate that some individuals were observed trailing the prisoner van, while the on-duty officials failed to promptly report these developments to senior officers.
