The Banking Finance and Insurance Commission (BFIC) Gold launch event in Dubai was a star-studded affair, with major guests Sanjay Dutt and Wasim Akram taking to the stage.
A 27-second-long clip is circulating on social media, in which the Bollywood star can be seen paying homage to Akram with a wholesome speech.
In the speech, Sanjay Dutt expressed his admiration for "brother" Wasim Akram. The actor poured praise on the Pakistan pacer for his reverse swing and called him one of the greatest cricketers of his age.
Here are the exact words of Sanjay:
“I am honored to be here with Wasim Bhai.
He is a brother I've known for many, many years and one of the greatest cricketers I've seen in my entire life. Wasim Bhai, God of Cricket, and his reverse swing, Oh my God, Sab dar jatay thay yaar.”
The camera turned to Wasim, who was spotted offering a respectful bow to express gratitude for Dutt's remarks.
Wasim Akram also shared a picture with Sanjay Dutt on his Twitter account, where he called him ‘Kahlnayak’.
Netizens simply loved the bromance energy and the bond shared by them.
It is worth noting that Wasim Akram earned the label 'Sultan of Swing' for his art of reverse swing.
Akram's ability to deliver the ball at good line and length by adding a reverse swing made him one of the toughest bowlers to face during his time.
Wasim Akram achieved a plethora of records during his playing years. He was the first bowler to take 500 wickets in ODI cricket, which he accomplished during the ODI World Cup match against the Netherlands in 2003.
