Six colliers trapped in Quetta coalmine blast

At least six miners were trapped inside a coalmine after it caved in following an explosion in the Shahrag area of Harnai district in Balochistan on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

A Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) rescue team and the district administration staff rushed to the coalmine after receiving the information and launched a rescue operation. 

It was learnt that the incident took place in the coalmine of Haji Dilawar Khan, the contractor of Shahrag Tarkh Tangi, after poisonous gas filled the mine. 

Former President and Pakistan Peoples Party’s Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari expressed concern over the unfortunate incident and urged the relevant officials to expedite rescue operation to retrieve the trapped workers safely from inside the rubble.
