The Consumers Association of Pakistan (CAP) and the Dairy & Cattle Farmers Association Pakistan (DCFAP) have locked horns over the prices of milk in Karachi city, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to the sources, the dairy association had been asking the district administration to increase the prices of milk. But the government remained reluctant to accept the repeated demands of the daily association. However, the farmers have increased the milk price by 30 rupees per liter without taking care of the government.

The CAP chairman Kokab Iqbal came into the fray in favor of consumers and announced making a baton force to prevent dairy farmers to increase milk prices.

He said that they would announce the milk boycott campaign after consulting with the officials. This campaign would keep the farmers restricted to their old prices, he added.

On the other hand, DCFAP president Shakir Umar Gujjar threatened to increase the price of milk once again. He said that if the Commissioner of Karachi does not issue the notification, the price of milk will be increased by Rs 30 per liter next month.

This scuffle has created a wave of concern among the citizens.
