Punjab CM reviews ‘Drip and Shift’ approach for cardiac patients

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the advances in primary angiography and decided to start "Drip and Shift" approach for heart patients, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Provincial Minister Specialized Health Care and Medical Education Dr Javed Akram, Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education Dr Farqad Alamgir, Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board, and DG Rescue 1122 Dr Rizwan Naseer.

Dr Farqad Alamgir gave the CM a briefing on the “Drip and Shift approach” and explained that in case of a heart attack, the patient would be transported to the Tehsil and District Hospitals by ambulance after giving the required injection.

Patients will be transferred to the nearest large hospital if the primary angiography facility is not available in the tehsil and district hospitals. Special ambulances of Rescue 1122 will transport cardiac patients to the hospital. 

The special ambulance of Rescue 1122 will be equipped with trained staff and necessary medical equipment. 

In the beginning, "Drip and Shift" will be started in four districts in Punjab: Sheikhupura, Kasur, Chiniot, and Jhang.

He further explained in the meeting that more than 2,500 patients have access to primary angio in nine major hospitals in Punjab, and that this access has made it possible to save the lives of hundreds of patients with heart disease.

Committee formed for allotment of govt houses from Punjab CM’s quota

A three-member committee has been formed for the allotment of government houses from the Punjab chief minister’s quota, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

As per the official sources, the committee was formed under the chairmanship of Secretary Coordination Aamir Karim Khan. Additional Secretary (Admin) Ali Akbar and a grade 17 officer from Welfare Wing were included in the committee.

The committee will give recommendations to the Punjab chief minister as per para 11 of the Government Residency Policy 2021 for the allotment of houses on the applications received.
