The Judicial Commission of Pakistan, headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, met Wednesday to decide the fate of three additional judges of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The commission decided to grant a six-month extension to the three judges, instead of confirming them as permanent judges.
The judges who received the extension are Justice Khurshid Iqbal, Justice Shahid Khan and Justice Fazal Subhan.
The commission did not disclose the reasons for its decision, which will be sent to the president for approval. The PHC currently has 15 permanent and five additional judges.
