Renowned Pakistani singer Aima Baig appeared in the ‘Gup Shup with Fuchsia Magazine' show and opened up about the mental health situation she had gone through last year.

During the conversation with hostess Rabia Mughni, Aima Baig openly talked about her battle with depression and suicidal attempts.

Basically, the ‘Malang’ singer shared the most difficult time of her life after separation from her ex-fiancee Shahbaz Shigri when she faced the life-altering experience of her life.

‘Washmally’ singer disclosed the struggle she did during a time of extreme pressure and hatred.

Aima's emotional distress reached a point where she considered suicide following a period of tumultuous events, particularly the 'Talulah Mair' controversy.

Here are the exact words of the beautiful singer.

“I tried committing suicide. I didn’t want to live. Because, of the kind of person I am, I am a very sensitive, soft-hearted person. It all happened during a stupid scandal that nobody knew [fully] about.”

Aima shared how this hate affected her family.

“It wasn’t just me who was receiving all the comments and hate; it was my brother, it was my dad, it was my sisters. And they were just pampering me. They wouldn’t even tell me and I would take one look into their eyes and tell that they’re also suffering. My friends were suffering too but all were trying to make me happy.”

Aima also talked about her condition of arthritis, and the insensitivity she encountered from others and discussed the difficulties she was facing.

The lady further talks about how she used to sleep by her mom's side every night until she passed away.

She said that when her mom passed away, she couldn't cry because she was so numb. But what happened next was that she started struggling with depression, which she's been dealing with for a while now. It's important to remember that her mom was really supportive of her and helped her start out as a singer.

Moving on, Aima also recalled performing Umrah during that time and how the religious journey offered her healing.

“I shut myself in my room. I wouldn’t come out during those days. Umrah also happened during that time. That’s when I felt like I’m being summoned. I was in my room, not even thinking about it. My dad just walked into my room one fine day and said to me, ‘beta, want to go for Umrah?’ and I said ‘Yes’. So, when I went there and I performed Umrah, and the intensity with which I performed Umrah, it felt like, Allah is looking at me and he wanted to heal me.”
