Four pilots of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have been suspected of having coronavirus after they returned from a flight abroad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel, quoting sources, on Sunday.
The four-member PIA cockpit crew included two pilots and two first officers. They have been shifted into self-isolation at a private hotel in Karachi where tests will be run on them and if found positive they will be transferred to a quarantine centre.
The four-member cockpit crew had returned from a ferry flight from Britain. The authorities have now sealed the plane and taking specimens from its cockpit.
Later, the Sindh Health Department informed the government of suspected pilots' non-cooperation as they refused to be shifted to a quarantine centre.
It may be mentioned here that PIA has partially restored its flights operation with special flights to Britain. Several flights had already left Islamabad for the UK and more are planned to take off in the next few days.
