Sri Lanka High Commissioner Vice Admiral Mohan Vijay Wickrama said both Sri Lanka and Pakistan have made tourist visas easier, while cheap hotels and transport have also been provided for tourists going to Sri Lanka
Giving a special interview to 24 News HD TV Channel, Sri Lanka High Commissioner Vice Admiral Mohan Vijay Wickrama said that the friendship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan has not been established since 1948 but since 1948.
He said the defense cooperation between the two countries is an example of the trade between Pakistan and Sri Lanka as relations between them are strong.
Mr Wickrama said Pakistan's first trade agreement was signed with Sri Lanka as Sri Lanka and Pakistan are trading 4000 products free of tax.
He added that Sri Lanka is buying pharmaceuticals and cotton the most but this trade has decreased during the coronavirus epidemic.
Mr Wickrama said that the tourism sector in Sri Lanka was closed during the corona virus, which caused a lot of damage, but now Sri Lanka is moving towards economic stability again.
He said Pakistani people are turning to other countries for tourism. Sri Lanka is an excellent and cheap country for Sri Lankan visa has been made very easy for Pakistani tourists, he added.
The High Commissioner said that he liked Pakistan very much and has seen a lot of areas of the country. He said Lahore, Karachi are very beautiful cities.
“Sri Lanka is a welfare state where all types of education are provided free from Karachi to Colombo. On sailing it can be thought that a 3-day journey by ship from Karachi will be to Colombo, he said.
Mr Wickrama said that the cricket relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka are of the best type and PSL is a big tournament in which Sri Lankan players will also be seen in the future.
He said in their opinion Pakistan will emerge from the economic situation because this is a big country that has a lot of resources.
