Taking notice of the failure to make arrangements for 70,000 pilgrims who are due to perform the Hajj this year under the private scheme and follow the Saudi Hajj policy 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday constituted a three-member committee to identify the officials responsible and suggest a solution, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The committee, comprising the secretary cabinet, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman and chief secretary GB, will try to find out as to why the Saudi policy was not implemented through the Ministry for Religious Affairs as well as private Hajj operators.
It will also point out those officials who were found negligent in this regard and which ultimately led to the fears that thousands of Pakistani pilgrims might not perform Hajj this year.
It will submit its findings to the prime minister within three days.
