Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has given an ultimatum to the power corridors to dissolve assemblies in one month, 24News HD TV channel reported on Friday.
PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, in connection with the issues related to the future political strategy of the party, addressed a press conference at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad.
Fawad announced to hold a big rally in Islamabad if the government will fail to dissolve the assemblies and to give the date of the next general elections in the country.
The former Information Minister also told the media persons that his party leadership will announce its action plan in the next 48 hours.
Replying to different queries from the media representatives, Fawad Chaudhry condemned in strong words a campaign continued on social media against the Heli Lasbela tragedy.
Fawad said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) made contempt of court by giving a schedule of the by-elections on 11 seats of the National Assembly.
He said PTI parliamentarians’ resignations have already been accepted by the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri so the Speaker has now not any constitutional right to review the matter.
On the killing of Ayman Al-Zawahiri in a drone attack in Afghanistan, Fawad Chaudhry said PTI wanted clarification on whether airspace or land of Pakistan was used or not.
Because Pakistan has already paid a heavy price in the past and now cannot be a part of any such deal, the PTI leader added.
He said that the nation wants an answer that we are not going to be a tool of America again against Al-Qaeda.
Fawad Chaudhry said the ECP should have respected the court's decision regarding the by-elections and should have stopped the schedule till August 16.
PTI Vice President said they have no trust in the sitting ECP and the process of elections.
