What could be termed a major decision for the pensioners living abroad, the government of Pakistan on Wednesday exempted them from biometric verification, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Finance Division has issued a notification in this connection.

The division had, on January 28, 2021, made it mandatory for the pensioners living overseas to go through biometric verification.

The notification states that from now on the pensioners living abroad would only have to show to the authorities the proof that they are alive.

“They will now be able to send their required documents to Pakistan after verification by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," reads the notification.
