An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad Thursday granted bail to former MNA Ali Wazir in the Tarnol police station case on the condition of submitting Rs50,000 worth of surety bonds, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

ATC judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain accepted the pre-arrest bail plea of Ali Wazir in the Tarnol police station case.

“The investigation officer has no explanation for keeping Ali Wazir in prison for three years,” lawyer Attaullah Kundi told the court.

“When Ali Wazir was arrested, why wasn’t he included in the investigation into the case filed at the Tarnol police station,” he added.

“Police could not provide any justification for arresting Ali Wazir,” Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain said and accepted Ali Wazir’s pre-arrest bail plea.
