Another 2,217 illegal Afghan nationals deported via Torkham

Pakistan deported another 2,217 Afghan nationals who were either illegally residing in the country or holding Afghan Citizen Cards, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
These individuals were kept at the Landi Kotal transit camp and later deported through the Torkham border crossing after due process.
Immigration sources in Khyber confirmed that the deportees had been brought in from various cities.
Since April 1, 2025, a total of 944 Afghan families, comprising 6,700 individuals (including 2,874 men, 1,755 women, and 2,071 children), have been sent back to Afghanistan.
From September 17, 2023, to March 31, 2025, Pakistan has deported 469,159 Afghan nationals belonging to 70,494 families.
