9,809 illegal Afghans deported from Punjab so far: IGP

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar on Monday said that as many as 9,809 illegal Afghans were departed from Punjab including Lahore to the neighbouring country so far, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The IGP said that the on-going crackdown against illegal foreigners will continue without any delay.
Dr Usman Anwar said that during the crackdown, more than 19357 illegal foreigners were detained in Holding Centers. He said currently there are 548 illegal foreigners are held in the Holding Points.
A spokesman of Punjab Police said that forty-six holding points were established across Punjab while five were established in Lahore.
IGP Dr. Usman Anwar said that deportation policy being implemented while keeping in mind human rights and according to international deportation rules and regulations.
He said that sensitive agencies in collaboration with the federal government monitoring the deportation campaign.
He said that zero tolerance policy is adopted against all illegal foreigners who are currently residing in the province.
He further directed the CCPO Lahore, RPOs and DPOs to expedite actions against all illegal foreigners.
Collaboration between security agencies, CTD and special branch played vital role against on-going crackdown against illegal foreigners currently residing in Pakistan.
More than 13,000 illegal Afghan nationals were sent back to their homeland yesterday. The total number of illegal Afghan nationals leaving Pakistan has reached 948,870.
The government is ensuring the dignified return of illegal foreign nationals and Afghan Citizen Card holders to their home countries.
