A high-level US delegation, headed by Senior Bureau Official (SBO) Eric Meyer for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, is scheduled to visit Pakistan for a three-day official trip from April 8, 2025 (Tuesday).

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the Trump administration's first delegation's visit marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between the United States and Pakistan.

US Congressional delegation will Visit Pakistan from April 10-15. Congressmen General Jack Bergman and Tom Suzie to lead the delegation. US Congressmen to meet with top political and military leadership. 

Congress delegation to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and the leadership of various political parties. 

The delegation will also visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir and will be briefed on the latest situation in occupied Kashmir and the security situation along the Line of Control. 

The top delegation will also visit Kartarpur Corridor. The aim of the Congressional delegation's visit is to promote bilateral relations between Pakistan and the US. The visit will cover important issues such as economy, trade, defense and military relations, and education. 

The organizer of the visit Imran Agra made it clear that US delegation will neither meet Imran Khan nor talk about Imran Khan’s release as Congress delegation was not interested in Pakistan's internal politics. 

The delegation is also set to participate in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum, a key event aimed at attracting investment in Pakistan’s mineral sector. Earlier, Pakistan’s Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mohammad Aurangzeb, confirmed that a high-level Pakistani delegation would soon visit the United States to discuss the 29% tariff recently imposed on imports, a key issue expected to be raised during the US visit.

This visit will mark the first of its kind under the Trump administration since his election as president. It is seen as a crucial opportunity to deepen the dialogue between both countries, particularly in areas of economic cooperation, security, and investment. Sources indicate that the visit will also provide an important platform to discuss increasing business opportunities for American companies in Pakistan, further promoting economic ties.
