Calls for justice for Bramsh Baloch, a five-year-old girl whose mother was killed and she herself was wounded in a gun attack in Turbat a few days ago, are growing stronger day by day.

Some armed men stormed her house and shot dead Bramsh’s mother Malik Naz in the Turbat area of Balochistan on May 26, apparently when she put up resistance during a house robbery. Bramsh was also injured in the gun attack and she is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. Naz’s family members managed to capture one of the attackers, but his accomplices fled.

Bramsh Baloch is currently under treatment at a public hospital in Balochistan.

As the Bramsh Solidarity Committee Hub had announced rallies against Naz’s murder on June 6, rallies were held in many parts of Balochistan and outside Balochistan, including Karachi and Islamabad, against the incident. People at the protest rallies raised slogans like “Justice for Bramsh”, “Justice for Malik Naz”, “We want justice”, “Justice for Balochistan”, “Bramsh is our daughter” and “Now you can’t breathe! Enough is enough”.

On Saturday, social media was flooded by posts about the Turbat woman’s killing in the gun attack. Social media users shared the pictures of Bramsh and her mother in large numbes and sought justice for the two.

The provincial government however claimed on Saturday that four people linked to the robbery-cum-murder had been arrested and were being investigated.
