Former Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, emphasized the urgent need to tap into Pakistan’s $50 billion potential in the meat and dairy sectors.

He stated that with proper strategy and innovation, Pakistan can secure a significant position in the global livestock market.

Highlighting the growing global demand for halal meat, Ibrahim Murad shared that the halal meat industry has already surpassed a value of $2.8 trillion and is projected to reach $7.5 trillion by 2032. He called this an unprecedented opportunity for Pakistan to boost its exports and strengthen its economy.

Former Minister Livestock pointed out that New Zealand with a population of only 5 million, one-third the size of Lahore, has managed to exceed $23 billion in dairy exports. He stressed that Pakistan with its rich livestock resources, has the capacity to follow suit through modern techniques and visionary planning.

Murad urged for a comprehensive national-level strategy to expand Pakistan’s dairy and halal meat exports, noting that the global halal meat industry is rapidly advancing and Pakistan must act now to claim its rightful share in the international market.
