Farzana Raja declared PO in BISP reference

The Accountability Court has declared the former chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme Farzana Raja a proclaimed offender, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
An Accountability Court headed by Judge Asghar Ali was hearing a corruption reference against former chairperson BISP Farzana Raja in Islamabad on Monday. The court has issued perpetual warrants for the former BISP chairperson.
During the hearing, Judge Ali ordered to block Ms Raja’s national identity card and put her name on the Exit Control List.
While detaching Ms Raja from the present reference, the court wanted to fix a new date for her indictment.
The lawyers of other accused said before fixing a new date, the court should explain whether it was a definite reference or an interim reference as nobody could be indicted on interim reference. The judge said that according to the Supreme Court judgements, an investigation could be initiated at any stage.
The court summoned NAB investigating officer in the next hearing. The hearing was adjourned till June 14.
Accused Muhammad Aslam and others appeared in the court during the hearing.
