Anti-encroachment squad comes under attack in Karachi   

One person sustained injuries as a clash between people and the personnel of an anti-encroachment squad erupted in Karachi, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

Backed by police, an anti-encroachment team launched an operation at the Hangura Goth Super Highway area. As soon as the personnel demolished several structures, a number of people attacked them with stones

The incidents of aerial firing were also reported. Tension escalated making the official leave the area. The highway was closed.

Reportedly, such an operation was launched a couple of months ago too. Hundreds of protestors took to the streets against the anti-encroachment operation in the Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth area. Women and children were also among the protesters.

Several officials including DSP, SHO and SHO were suspended after a policeman sustained injuries in the anti-encroachment operation in Ghazi Goth. In  North Nazimabad too, the anti-encroachment op sparked the protest.
