Ex-PM Imran Khan has been on a treason-decree spree to hide his inability to govern and distract the public attention from Farah Khan’s corruption, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Sunday
She questioned Imran Khan’s allegations of a 'US-backed plot’ saying what kind of atomic bomb Imran Khan was making that invoked the US to concoct a plot to topple his government. There was no conspiracy, she added.
Imran Khan’s long march is aimed at saving Farah Khan, she said, adding that he has been distributing fatwas of treason so that the people’s attention could be diverted from Farah Khan’s fraud. However, the information minister said the former premier’s bid to hide Farah's fraud will be foiled.
Allies left him after he was exposed, she stressed, adding that Imran did not keep his word and promoted nepotism. Nothing is bothering former prime minister Imran Khan more than Shehbaz Sharif’s election as premier through a democratic process, she said and chided the PTI government over SBP autonomy.
The information minister said that it was PM Shehbaz Sharif who approached friendly countries for the sake of Pakistan's development. She said the PTI-led government abused the power to gag the opposition and the media for four years.
"We have always accepted criticism. We stood by the journalists for the cause,” she said.
