Newly appointed Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum handed over the command of Karachi Corps to Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum handed over the Karachi Corps to Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed in a ‘Change of Command’ ceremony held here in Karachi on Monday.
Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum would take charge of his new post from November 20.
The notification for the appointment of Lt General Nadeem Anjum as new director-general (DG) of the ISI was issued on Tuesday, October 26 following Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the summary sent to him for the purpose.
The Pakistan Army had announced the appointment of ISI chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed as Peshawar corps commander, while that of Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum as the new DG ISI.
Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum previously had served as Karachi Corps Commander and Frontier Constabulary Inspector General (IG FC) and Commandant and Command & Staff College Quetta and Brigade Commander Hangu Kurram Agency.
He belonged to the Punjab Regiment.
New ISI boss attended Royal College of Defence Studies UK and Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies Honolulu.
