Pakistan assures China of implementing reforms in energy sector

To review the economic reforms, special dialogues between Pakistani and Chinese officials were held, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Friday.
According to the report, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb led the Pakistani team in the negotiations with Chinese Charge d'Affaires Shi Yuanqiang and his team.
The talks included Minister of Energy Awais Leghari, Minister of State Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Special Assistant Muhammad Ali, who engaged in a dialogue with Chinese officials.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Aurangzeb briefed the Chinese delegation on Pakistan's economic reform agenda and emphasised that the government is implementing significant reforms in the energy sector.
The federal finance minister also highlighted his government's policy about privatising loss-making state institutions.
Aurangzeb shared that the recent visit to China included positive discussions with Chinese officials, during which both countries agreed on the need to strengthen economic relations.
Finance Minister Aurangzeb also expressed Pakistan's appreciation for China's investment in the energy sector.
Pakistan's Energy Minister Awais Leghari informed the Chinese officials that the Pakistani government is introducing multiple reforms in the energy sector to improve its efficiency and sustainability.
