District Administration imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi from November 8 to 10 in Rawalpindi City due to thick smog, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Ban imposed on holding public rallies, gathering and display of weapons in the jurisdiction of Rawalpindi.

Earlier, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) warned that the smog would continue to prevail in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi from November to February.

According to details, the EPA had dispatched a letter to the Islamabad deputy commissioner to ensure the preventive measures for the citizens to combat smog.

It was urged in the letter to the Islamabad deputy commissioner to ban the smoke-emitting brick kilns, industries, and vehicles. The EPA warned against the prevailing threat of smog in the twin cities like Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Multan and Faisalabad.

The EPA had also predicted the worsening of the air pollution in Potohar region in the forthcoming days.
