DSP among several police injured as PTI activists pelt stones

Several policemen, including a DSP, sustained injuries after PTI demonstrators pelted them with stones in the federal capital on Sunday.


Despite 7 pm deadline set by the local administration, the PTI rally in Sanjani continued and more caravans reached Islamabad.


According to the local administration, the organizers of the rally violated the NOC as the rally was to end by 7 pm.


The administration has issued orders for police to end the rally. District Magistrate Islamabad has issued a notification asking the administration to vacate the site from the PTI workers.


The PTI workers clashed with police when they tried to stop them at Chungi No 26. As a result of the clash, SSP Shoaib Khan and several policemen got injured.


Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has taken notice of PTI workers' clash with police and sought a detailed report from the Inspector General of Islamabad Police.

Mohsin Naqvi also made telephonic contact with injured SSP Shoaib Khan and inquired after him. On the occasion, police also that best medical facilities should be provided to the injured policemen.


Earlier, Islamabad district administration warned the PTI against its failure to follow the guidelines.


Taking to X, the Islamabad DC tweeted that according to the NOC issued to PTI by the district administration, the public meeting time was 7 pm.  Just 45 minutes are left and the meeting organizers have been informed, he said, adding that legal action will be taken for violation of NOC.
