Punjab govt okays SIM cards blocking of non-vaccinated people

Punjab government Thursday made a final decision to block the mobile SIMS of people who are not getting vaccinated, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A high-level meeting under the chair of Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid at Civil Secretariat took important decisions for the prevention of Corona and increase the pace of the vaccination process in the province.
Chief Secretary Punjab, Additional Chief Secretary, DGPR, Secretaries of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department and Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department and top civil and military officials attended the meeting.
The government will open walk-in vaccination for those over 18 years of age group while mobile vaccination camps will be set up around all shrines in Punjab.
All business will be opened in districts getting more than 20 percent population vaccinated.
The Health Minister reviewed measures to stop Corona spread, increase in the number of vaccination centres, addition of health services and other measures. Secretary P&SH Department Sarah Aslam and SH&ME Barrister Nabeel Awan apprised the meeting of the measures taken in the province.
The meeting participants appreciated both the Secretaries considerably for the decrease in mortality and cases.
The Health Minister said: “We have seen a considerable decrease in a number of cases. The government is utilizing all-out resources for control of COVID-19 under the leadership of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. The credit of reduction in cases goes to administration. We are ensuring the vaccination of all citizens at 677 centres in Punjab. From Saturday, we are opening walk-in vaccination for people over 18 years of age. Now people can get vaccinated on showing CNIC. People can contact 1033 for complaints or queries regarding vaccination. All districts will ensure the vaccination of people. Vaccinated people shall be allowed to join cinema halls, marriage halls, restaurants. People suffering terminal illnesses like HIV/AIDS and cancer shall now be vaccinated on priority.”
Chief Secretary Punjab said that maximum possible facilities are being provided at vaccination centres. He said in districts having 20% population vaccinated, businesses will be opened subject to compliance with masks. He said the vaccination process will be completed successfully in the province.
