Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, remembering the bleak incident of April 10, 1993 said Srinagar’s Lal Chowk was burned to the ground by the terrorist Indian paramilitary troops, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

On Sunday, she tweeted, “In one of the most devastating incidents of its kind, on April 10, 1993, a large section of downtown Srinagar known as Lal Chowk was burned to the ground by the terrorist Indian paramilitary troops.”

Mushaal is also Chairperson Peace and Culture Organization and a peace advocate.

She said, “Lest we forget: Lal Chowk Massacre, April 10 1993.”

Human Rights Watch and other organisations said that the Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) set fire to the locality in retaliation for the burning of an abandoned BSF building by local residents and over 125 civilians were killed in the conflagration and the ensuing shooting by the BSF troops on April 10, 1993.

Separately, Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Afridi also said, “Targeting the faith & cultural identity of people of occupied Kashmir is in clear violation of basic human norms, fundamental precepts of international law. History has witnessed use of brutal force against Kashmiris, their religious places have not succeeded in breaking their will.

He said, “I strongly condemn indiscriminate firing, grenade attacks at a Mosque in Shopian, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir on 9 April 2021. Desecration, damage to Mosque & extra-judicial killings of Kashmiris are manifestations of state-terrorism, war crimes against Kashmiris.”

Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson already made statement against inhuman conduct of Indian forces and said. “…is reflective of their moral bankruptcy as well as culture of impunity in IIOJK. Targeting faith and cultural identity of the people of occupied territory is in clear violation of human norms & fundamental precepts of international law.”
