The Lahore High Court has summoned IG Punjab Police and Secretary Specialization Health to personally appear in the court while hearing Lyton Road encounter case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

LHC Justice Ali Zia Bajwa heard the case on the application of Farzana Bibi. During the hearing, Justice Ali Zia Bajwa expressed anger over DIGs for presetting fake records in alleged encounter case in which police had killed the two accused.

DIG Investigations Zeeshan Asghar Baber and DIG Operations Faisal Kamran appeared in the court along with Deputy Prosecutor General Hafiz Asghar. While Assistant Advocate General Shahid Nawab appeared on the behalf of Punjab Government. During the hearing, DIG Investigation Zeeshan Asghar Baber sought an apology from the court.

Both DIGs remain in the court for three hours. During the hearing, Justice Ali Zia questioned the doctor’s teams which prepared the postmortem report how they conduct the postmortem and the doctors failed to give satisfactory answers to the court.

Justice Ali Bajwa, addressing the DIG Zeeshan Asghar, said that “if DIG Investigation gives a wrong answer on a report, then he has to consider the consequences”. How the “police killed two men and ordered not to check the records”.

The court questioned from DIG where are the bullet shells fired by the police in self-defence, you have to account for each bullet, court questioned. DIG Investigation Zeeshan Asghar spoke again and said. “I apologize”, the judge said to DIG Investigation Zeeshan Asghar, "What are you apologizing for?"

Acting Advocate General Punjab requested the court that DIG will conduct the inquiry again, on this Justice Ali Zia Bajwa remarked that the inquiry will be made by the DIG again, who presented a bogus report in court.

LHC Judge questioned on whose request this fake record was presented in the court? The judge remarked that a case should be registered against the doctors who tried to change the record.

Assistant Advocate General Shahid Nawab Cheema requested the court to give the police officers one more chance.

Justice Bajwa remarked that two DIGs present a report in the court and the next day they say that they said they gave a fake statement of the investigation. If the FIRs of the alleged police encounter were real, why was the post-mortem not conducted in time?

Justice Ali Zia Bajwa asked the petitioner that if this was encounter case, then the petitioner should have contacted the FIA. Later the court put off the hearing of the case till tomorrow.
