The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday disposed of the plea for the recovery of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Sadaqat Abbasi after he reached home safely, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Dr Babar Awan appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner.
“Yes, Dr Sahib! Your man is back,” IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq said to lawyer Babar Awan.
“I want to salute the ‘Mard-e-Hurriyat’ who got the man recovered. Write in the order on my behalf ‘Brown fruit in the favour of Anchor’,” Babar Awan said.
The chief justice burst into laughter at Babar Awan’s words and said: “You spoke the whole thing in one line. Let’s dispose of the case now.”
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case. Additional Attorney General Munawar Iqbal Dogal and the interior ministry and police officials appeared before the court.
It is to be noted here that Abbasi was picked up from outside Parliament Lodges a few days ago, and a petition seeking his recovery was pending before the IHC.
The petition contended that unknown people had kidnapped the PTI leader and requested his recovery.
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi had granted him pre-arrest interim bail against Rs50,000 worth of surety bonds.
