T20 Asia Cup 2022: Sri Lanka becomes champ 

Sri Lanka has clinched victory against Pakistan in the final of T20 Asia Cup 2022 at Dubai Stadium, 24Newsh HD TV channel reported Sunday.

Sri Lanka set a target of 171 runs but Pakistan could score 147 as the Lankan bowlers demonstrated outstanding skills. Pakistan's batting line badly failed.

Pramod Madushan and Wanindu Hasaranga shared seven wickets between them as Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 23 runs to win their sixth Asia Cup title on Sunday.

Chasing 171 for victory, Pakistan were bowled out for 147 with Madushan claiming four wickets and Hasaranga taking 3-27 in Dubai.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa had smashed an unbeaten 71 to lift Sri Lanka to 170-6 from a precarious 58-5 after being put in to bat by Pakistan.

Sri Lanka lost only six wickets and its batsman Bhanuka Rajapaska made a magnificent 71 not out. Pakistani bowler Haris Rauf got three wickets against 29 runs.

Pakistan win toss:

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first in the final match of the Asia Cricket Cup 2022 against Sri Lanka at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

Pakistan has reached the cricket competition’s final five times and is well poised to grab the trophy for the third time.

Changes in Pakistani team

Star performers Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah who were rested for the Super Four match versus Sri Lanka, are included in the team.
