Over Rs10 billion less funds set aside for Lahore’s uplift in Punjab budget

The amounts allocated for the development of Lahore in the Punjab budget for the next financial year, 2022-23, has been slashed by over Rs10 billion as this time the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will get Rs4.6 billion for the completion of different ongoing projects in the city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The Authority will get Rs470.5 million in funds in the next financial year for the completion of four schemes.
The ongoing projects for which funds have been allocated are: Shahdara Sports Complex for which Rs33 million have been reserved; Sabza Zar Sports Complex for which Rs50 million have been reserved; Singhpura Sports Complex for which Rs27.56 million have been earmarked; China Scheme Sports Complex for which funds totaling Rs25 million have been reserved; Township Sports Complex for which funds totaling Rs23 million have been set aside; EME Sports Complex for which Rs30 million have been reserved; Kahna Sports Complex for which over Rs30 million have been earmarked; Shalimar Sports Complex for which Rs30 million have been reserved.
Other projects are: Aik Morya Bridge for which Rs50 million have been allocated; Sheranwala Bridge for which Rs380 million have been earmarked; funds totaling Rs340 million have been set aside for both Gulab Devi Bridge and Lahore Bridge extension projects; over Rs1.16 billion in funds have been allocated for the Sagyan Bridge; Rs10 million for the study of intersections at different Lahore roads; Rs5 million for the topography of Lahore roads; Rs100 million for the Samanabad Underpass; Rs50 million for Gwala Colony and Khaira Distributors each; Rs300 million for the Sports Complex in NA-119; over Rs220 million for the Sports Complex in NA-120.
Similarly, funds totaling Rs100 million have been reserved for E-Portal tendering project; Rs75 million for pedestrian bridge project in Lahore; Rs300 million for the repair of Jarranwala Road and Rs50 million each for Khawaja Hassan Road and Zarar Shaheed Road.
