Sindh has no idea how many posts of teaching and non-teaching staff are vacant in the province, as none of the district officials have provided these details to the education department, reported 24NewsHD TV on Friday.
And a natural consequence, the process of new recruitments is expected to be affected in this scenario with the repeated show-cause notices issued to the authorities in all the 30 districts too failing to produce the desired results.
Hence, it is not a surprise that Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani is angry with the officials concerned. Whether they would face removal or any other action, a decision in this respect is expected to be taken on December 16.
Earlier, the Sindh cabinet had decided to recruit new staff for the vacant slots across the province. As a result, it was planned that the education department would launch the hiring process this year.
That’s why the education department had sought details of the unfilled teaching and non-teaching posts from the authorities in every district two weeks ago. But lack of response meant that show-cause notices had to be issued on November 10. However, the district-level officials didn’t act even after that.
Although the Sindh cabinet is scheduled to meet tomorrow (Saturday), it is feared that the planned staffing would not move ahead according to the desired speed.
