Section 144 imposed in Karachi for five days

In the wake of SCO summit, Section 144 has been imposed in Karachi for five days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a notification issued by Commissioner Karachi, there will be complete ban on gathering and rallies from October 13 to October 17, 2024.
Amid security concerns, section 144 has been imposed to control law and order situation in the metropolitan city.
Pakistan is hosting the twenty-third meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government (CHG) of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) from 15 to 16 October in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press statement on Saturday said that in his capacity as the current Chair of the CHG, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the upcoming CHG meeting. SCO member States will be represented by the Prime Ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as the First Vice President of Iran and External Affairs Minister of India.
