Top Lollywood villain Asad Bukhari passes away

Veteran Lollywood villain Asad Bukhari passed away on Tuesday in Lahore. He was 86.
The funeral prayers of the deceased actor will be offered at 7pm at his residence in Gulberg today. He was born on 1934 in Rama Nagar, Ghakhar Mandi, Gujranwala.
Khuwaja Hassan Ejazul Hassan Bukhari aka Asad Bukhari was famous for his ‘negative’ roles in the Pakistani film industry.
After getting his graduation degree he worked for a short time in Life Insurance and then in Allied Bank. He started his showbiz work from Radio Pakistan.
His first film ‘Baigunnah’ was directed by Anwar Baig and it was released in 1958 but it did not impress the critics.
Asad Bukhari’s first leading villain role in famous director Shabab Keranvi’s film Suriya (1961) formally launched him in the Lollywood. Later he did many films with Inayat Hussain Bhatti, Ilyas Kashmir and Kaifi.
Asad worked in around 400 films. Some of his famous films were Dillan Dey Sodhay, Mera Kiya Qasoor, Maula Jutt, Asoo Billa, Sajjna Door Diya. He made six films as producer and as a director five. He made his last film ‘Jagga Tax’ in 2002.
He left six sons behind to mourn his death.
