Prime Minister Imran Khan has called upon his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau to take stern action over the killing of a Pakistani family in Canada, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
Hate-mongering on some internet sites have been resulting in creating a divide in the humanity and the world leaders must play their due role in curbing such a heinous crime, the premier said in a Canadian TV channel interview.
He stressed the need for a concerted campaign to curb sectarian strife across the globe, saying the West has been linking terrorism to the Ummah since 9/11 thus the Muslims have been targeted.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is aware of the gravity of the issue while other world leaders have not shown a satisfactory response to this gruesome incident, Imran Khan said.
The assassination of a Pakistani family in Canada have sent a shock wave among the Ummah across the world, he said.
Reportedly, the the Pakistan High Commissioner to Canada Raza Bashir Tarar, Consul General in Toronto Abdul Hameed and expats attended the funeral of the deceased.
Earlier, Pakistani diplomates met the members of the bereaved family and offered condolences on behalf of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
