Former PM postpones son s walima ceremony over coronavirus fears

Former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani on Friday postponed the walima ceremony of his son Ali Qasim Gillani in the wake of coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Qasim Gillani’s walima ceremony was set to take place in Multan on Sunday, March 15.

Commenting on postponement of the ceremony, the former prime minister said a large public gathering could be dangerous in situations like the coronavirus outbreak.

Ali Qasim Gilani tied the knot in Lahore on last Saturday. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari turned up as a wedlock witness at the ceremony. Former Punjab governor Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood, Syed Salahuddin Shah Rashidi, Abu al Hasan Gillani, Samiul Hasan Gillani, Abdul Qadir Gillani, Syed Tanveerul Hasan Gillani, Ali Haidar Gillani and Syed Ali Moosa Gillani attended the event.
